Summer holidays in Germany

Experience the German summer with Penta Hotels

Are you in the mood for a summer vacation in Germany? Make this summer one to remember with our insider tips.

Berlin

Summer in Berlin is always packed with variety throughout the city. But no recreational area in the capital is as beautiful as the Müggelsee, which you can reach by bus in just half an hour from Penta Hotel Berlin Köpenick . Swimming, boat tours and stand-up paddling are among the most popular summer activities there. If you love the open-air feeling, then you should definitely visit one of the many open-air cinemas in Berlin. Two of them can be reached from Penta in less than 30 minutes by public transport: the open-air cinemas Insel and Friedrichshagen. Treptower Park is also a wonderful place to cool down in the summer. The endless green lawns invite you to have a picnic or just relax on the banks of the river Spree. There is also an observatory, and if the night is clear, you can gaze into the stars.

Leipzig

If you're a big fan of outdoor culture, Leipzig is the city for you. "Sommer Bühnen" is a collection of theatre events that take place from mid-June to the end of September at various locations around the city - there really is something for everyone, no matter your interests. And Leipzig summer tips would not be complete if we didn’t mention Lake Kulkwitz. By public transport or by bike, you can also quickly reach the "Kuki" from Penta Hotel Leipzig. The former coal mine is now a beautiful lake that awaits you with three diving sites, an underwater platform and even sandy beaches.

Rostock

You don't necessarily have to travel south to spend the summer by the sea. In the German city of Warnemünde, beautiful sandy beaches are just a short S-Bahn ride from the Penta Hotel Rostock. The seaside resort is a paradise for water sports, sunbathing and beach fun. During the warm season there is always a lot going on at the IGA Park, with regular open-air concerts, as well as lectures and exhibitions. But that's not all the IGA Park has to offer. The city's most beautiful green space is also a popular spot for picnics, sports or relaxation. The adrenaline junkies can head to the SUPIERIA water sports for wakeboarding, water skiing, games, or obstacle courses.
